On the 05 MAY 2019 at 1216Z, MDAT-GOG received a report of MV under attack in position 03°03’N 007°52’E (90nm Southeast of BONNY, Nigeria) Mariners are advised to exercise extreme caution in this area.
Update 1:
On the 06 MAY 2019 at 0803Z, the piracy attack is still going at position 03°04’14”N 007°55’01”E (90nm 130° off BONNY, Nigeria).
The M/V involved is now considered as HIJACKED and the pirates are still present on board.
Mariners are advised to exercise extreme caution in this area.
Update 2:
On the 06 MAY 2019 at 1430Z, an MV was hijacked in the position03°04’14”N/007°55’01”E. The MV and crew are now safe and being escorted by a Warship.
